  Jaywick Versus the Sea 

     The floods of January 31st./February 1st. 1953 wreaked havoc among       the caravans and chalets of Jaywick.

The morning after looking down Golf Green Road from where the
Methodist Church now stands.

The sea had been a constant threat over time. Repairs being done
to the wall at Brooklands in 1935.


The defences were breached again in 1948.
